A Beaumont man is suing Hagemeyer North America, seeking up to $10 million for his alleged slip and fall injuries.

Caution_slipperyPlaintiff Lee Stovall filed his suit against Hagemeyer and its manager at the time, Matthew Dulaney, on Feb. 4 in Jefferson County District Court.

Stovall alleges that on April 23 he was moving fire extinguishers at the Hagemeyer warehouse in Nederland when “he slipped and fell due to chemicals being on the floor,” the suit states.

“Plaintiff received no warnings prior to the incident and was without fault,” the suit states. “Plaintiff’s slip and fall was proximately caused by the negligence of defendant.”

Stovall accuses the defendants of negligently failing to inspect and maintain the area and provide him with a safe workplace.

Alleging he suffered pain, mental anguish and loss of earnings, Stovall is seeking damages in excess of $1 million, but not to exceed $10 million.

Houston attorney David Bergquist represents him.

Judge Kent Walston, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. A196-668
