An insurance company is suing for damages it paid to an insured homeowner after a fire.
Allstate Texas Lloyds, as subrogee of Michael Liggio, filed a lawsuit Dec. 22 in Galveston County District Court against Mackey Mechanical Services Co., citing negligence.
According to the complaint, a fire broke out in Liggio’s residence on Longwood Lane in Dickinson on Dec. 21, 2013, as a result of an electrical fault and improper grounding of an HVAC unit after the defendant had replaced the home’s upstairs furnace and duct work.
Allstate seeks more than $200,000 in damages which it paid to Liggio. It is represented by attorneys William T. Sebesta and Randall J. Poelma Jr. of Doyen Sebesta in Houston.
